It is a pleasure and a privilege to welcome the products of Konka back to Red Star Railways after a four-year hiatus. Konka models are made from injection-molded plastic, and feature fine detail, authentic colors, and sharp, prototypical lettering. The bogies (trucks) are plastic, and the plastic NEM wheels run on steel axles. European-style hook-and-loop couplers are mounted on the bogies.
Initially, I purchased five each of eight different models. I plan to purchase more models in the future – backfilling stocks of the more popular items, but also obtaining stocks of different wagons.

Item No. K260 – Soviet Railways 64t Round-roof Box Car – The prototype of this wagon was rebuilt around 1960 from its original flat-roof condition (see Items K282 and K287). The roof hatches allow the wagon to carry grain as well as cargo normally associated with box cars. Brown paint, diagonal white grain-loading stripe, Soviet Railways hammer-and-sickle logo. Item No. K282 – Soviet Railways 62t Box Car – This is the as-built condition of the two wagons shown above. Red-brown paint scheme, Soviet Railways hammer-and-sickle logo. Can be backdated to the era of the Great Patriotic War by adding buffer beams, buffers, and arch-bar (diamond-frame) bogies. Price $37.00
