BALTIC RAILWAYS MAGAZINE has been created by the hard work and enthusiasm of railway enthusiasts in the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, with contributions by enthusiasts from other countries. However, there is nothing amateurish about this magazine. It is printed on high-quality glossy paper. Photos are in color, with the exception of black and white archival photos. Issue Number One contains fifty-two pages. Currently, text is in Lithuanian and Russian. However, the table of contents is duplicated also in English and German. The format is 170mm x 250mm, or 6.5" x 9.75".
Articles in the premier issue cover a variety of topics: Lithuania’s new ER20 diesels (with plans), the Panevezys-Anyksciai narrow gauge line, the Latvian Railway History Museum, a railway accident in Tallinn, and much more.
Personally, I think this is a remarkable magazine.
Price per issue: US$10, plus postage. I have decided to sell BRM at my cost, without profit, in order to foster the growth of this new magazine. Customers in the European Union may wish to order their copies directly from Baltic Railways Magazine via their website at www.railbaltic.eu.
My thanks go to Zilvinas Urbutis for sending me a complimentary copy, and to Tony Olsson for recommending Red Star Railways to Mr. Urbutis.
